Civil Rights

Committed to your rights. Prepared to pursue accountability.

When your rights have been violated, being heard matters. So does having an advocate prepared to examine what happened and challenge unlawful conduct. Civil-rights work is where we want to be: standing with people whose voices have too often gone unheard. We are passionate about this work and the people it serves, and we bring that commitment to the careful preparation each case requires.

Representation when rights are at stake

We represent individuals in constitutional and civil-rights matters under federal and state law. Our work includes claims involving excessive force, unlawful searches or seizures, due-process violations, discrimination, retaliation, and other unlawful government conduct.

We also undertake cases through the civil pro bono panel of the U.S. District Court for the District of Colorado. That service reflects our commitment to helping people pursue their rights and have their claims heard.

Building the case with care

We begin by listening to your account, identifying the people and institutions involved, and examining the available evidence. From there, we evaluate the potential claims, the remedies available under the law, and what you hope to accomplish.

These cases can involve immunity defenses, questions about institutional responsibility, extensive discovery, expert testimony, and appeals. We address those issues directly and explain how they affect the path forward. Whether your priorities include compensation, accountability, or a clear record of what happened, they help guide our assessment and strategy.

Talk with us about what happened and the rights you believe were violated.
